Generational equity is an important social welfare topic that centers around younger generations paying for older generations. For example, social welfare and healthcare is funded in a way that younger generations are paying for the older. Because couples are having less children population is getting older and young generations are concerned whether they will have benefits when it´s their turn to retire.
In my country, generational equity is a current concern too. Many are wonder about social welfare´s future viability. I think it´s not to late to change this state of affairs but it would take major changes in the way social welfare
is funded. Personally, I already started saving money for the future because I know I won´t have the same paycheck when it´s my turn to retire. To maintain my current lifestyle, I need a retirement complement.
This topic has been generating many debates, some people think we´re complaining to early while others think it´s too late.
And you? What do you think about this topic?
